Where was God when Adam and Eve first sinned? If he is omnipresent, was he watching and able to intervene?

The sin of Adam and Eve served God’s righteous purpose and plan. Through it, His nature was revealed all the more clearly in judgment, and even more so in mercy and grace in the coming of Jesus Christ, which would never have happened had they not sinned. The purpose of the universe is the revelation of the existence of God and thus Adam and Eve’s sin ultimately served that purpose.

I. Our first parents, being seduced by the subtilty and temptations of Satan, sinned, in eating the forbidden fruit.[1] This their sin, God was pleased, according to His wise and holy counsel, to permit, having purposed to order it to His own glory.
