I was reading Genesis today when my daughter wouldn’t go to bed and it stood out to me that the story if not about The Fall but more about The Rise or Awakening of Adam and Eve. They are elevated to knowledge and shame and it’s not about sin but maybe a loss of naïveté or innocent. God allows them to grow and learn and then kicks them out of the Garden to teach them how to live outside the Garden. God elevates and prepares them to face the real world. Thoughts? Any agree or disagree?
I don’t agree, in rejecting God’s law (only 1 rule lol) you are rejecting him. To do something God says not to do is to say that your idea was smarter/wiser. They once were submissive to God’s reign but then they thought they could replace him and do better.
For this reason Satan fell himself which is why I think its appropriate that Jesus called the unbelievers in his day sons of satan “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies” John 8:44
And rejecting God is the worst thing you could do considering that God is both the source and standard of goodness himself. John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
